There are many nutritious perks about keeping chickens. One of these is chicken poo!  – acid loving plants thrive on this manure as it is filled with: nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Great for growing blackcurrants, vegetables and plum trees. Also by respecting your chickens and cleaning out their poo weekly will: deters rats, red mites, dirty eggs and many more unwanted pests. Shove your manure mixture on the veggie patch and the chickens will even turn it over for you by scratching through it!

Eggs are not only delicious but a ‘natural high’, with the yolks containing choline which ‘has been shown to require acuity and outlook’, but are also packed full of L-tryptophan, a happy hormone booster! Vitamin D is vital in egg making and there are certain woodland breeds in the chicken farming world where they are considered ‘free range’ but really they’re much less likely to venture outside due to them being woodland breeds. Basically healthy happy chickens will look after you and your body much better than unhealthy chickens.
